PapaMojo |
| PapaMojo's roots go way back to 1966 when Kos and Billy put together
their first professional Blues based band, "Just Us" to tour Switzerland.
That particular band toured not only Switzerland but Germany, Denmark,
France and North Africa before "morphing" into the notorious hell raising
"Gully Foyle". Gully Foyle toured France, Luxemburg, Germany and Holland throughout the late 60.s up until '73 when the band finally split. Kos and Billy then formed "Drambo" an acoustic trio playing a melange of blues and west coast rock all over Scotland to great success. Drambo was followed by "the band with no name" this band never really had a name and played all over using various long forgotten names. Kos and Billy then kicked off "Blues Revue" a 3 piece acoustic blues trio which later became a four piece with the addition of Charlie Walker on Harmonica and vocals. When their first album was in the can and due for release, Steve Craig the second guitarist took cold feet and disappeared, this led to yet another metamorphosis and Blues Revue became "The Barrelhouse Blues Band" . The Barrelhouse Blues Band was the introduction of Dave Blair on Bass into the scheme of things when he replaced the original Bass player Tam Murray and the reintroduction of travelling sound man Bruce McKenzie who had previously worked with Billy and Stefan in Gully Foyle.. The Barrelhouse Blues Band were without doubt the hardest working blues band in Scotland for a period of around 10 years before the demise which led to PapaMojo's formation. PapaMojo are a three piece acoustic band playing good old "Down Home" country blues with Bruce looking after the front of house sound.
