Over the years, the good Doctor has been seen repeatedly at Colne, Burnley, Edinburgh, Maryport, Dutch and Irish Blues Festivals. Plus they have opened shows for the all-time greats; Albert Collins, Albert King, Sherman Robertson, Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack, Joe Louis Walker, Big Joe Turner, Walter Troutband, Johnny Marr, Dr Feelgood, Blues and Trouble and many, many more. The Band has just finished recording a TV programme about the Blues, to be screened in the near future on ITV/CH4. If you want the Blues and nothing but the Blues, this is a Band to see. Lil JIMMY REED WEBSITE 4-Piece (Alabama) A real coup for the Bonanza. Lil Jimmy earned his name by standing in for THE Jimmy Reed when he was too drunk to play. Lil Jimmy has many years playing the Blues with his own style of old school Blues, which he has honed since the age of 16.Lil Jimmy has played constantly across America and has also played European Blues Festivals. When Jimmy leaves Scotland at the end of the Bonanza, he won’t be going home – he’ll be on his way to the Amals Blues Festival in Sweden.

Otis plays the Blues all year round around the world. BB King said, “Otis plays like I did when I was young”. A great compliment that couldn’t be bettered. This year his friend, Lil Jimmy Reed, who will be his main singer, will join Otis on stage. Also singing will be Doc Bob James, on piano Mr Boogie Woogie himself, Bob Hall. They are so good that the Dutch Government decided to sponsor them coming to the UK so that they could spread the Blues word.

SAM PAYNE WEBSITE Solo (Yorkshire) Female Blues and Boogie pianist and singer. Sam has played since she was 5 years old. She made quite an impression in her early years as a Blues/Boogie pianist. She has played live on stage with Buddy Guy and has recorded an album with legendary producer Skip McDonald. She has also played at Ronnie Scott’s, Dingwalls and the Essential Festival. Her radio performances include BBC2 to The Paul Jones Show, Atlantic 252, Smooth FM, BBC Radio Lancashire on the wire and various European stations. Sam writes a lot of original material and has just finished her solo album “Fly”, which has been released on Fly Free Records

SON HENRY BAND WEBSITE 4-Piece (Aberdeen via Alaska) All the way from Alaska, Son has firmly established himself on the British Blues circuit. His style of playing is unique. He has a startling range of styles that he has made his own, from deep soulful Delta Blues to loping Texas Shuffles to all points in between. He also plays his own material that sounds like they were written decades ago. When he plays his Lap Steel guitar, you won’t know what’s hit you. Son reaches out to the audience, but also makes it feel that he’s playing to you alone. Tis said that he has been known to hold an audience til sunrise when they should be preparing for work.

Again he will play songs from the past and songs from the present that he has written himself. Son has been known to play audience requests. One night he was asked for three songs. Instead of getting only one, he played all three. That’s the kind of guy he is.
