This is a guide to the Review Rating System used by Blueswriter in his reviews

Rating System

Fair - A recording with major flaws and little else going for it aside from the fact that it may be an attempt at blues.

Good - A recording with noticeable faults that also displays a few stronger moments helping to redeem it somewhat.

Very good - A recording with rough spots which are sometimes overshadowed by the strength of the performance.

Excellent - A recording that displays rough spots generally balanced with strong performance and production standpoints.

Recommended - A recording of great quality and one that is closing in on perfection.

Highly recommended - A superb recording that should not be missed.

Essential - A recording that is exceptional from every aspect: performance/production/packaging.


I should also point out that when I first post a review, I will often go back and polish it until I'm comfortable with how it flows and reads. Hope this helps.
